Co-Founder of WeClinic™ Homeopathy
B.Tech IIT Roorkee
Mr. Alok Katiyar is a dynamic entrepreneur, innovator, and co-founder of WeClinic Homeopathy, a pioneering startup committed to transforming the landscape of Indian healthcare through the power of homoeopathy. Alok Katiyar’s journey is one of grit, inspiration, and a relentless drive to make a difference. Born in Kanpur to a pharmacist father, Alok grew up in a family where stability and conventional career paths were the norm. His father’s job brought the family to the city to ensure the children had access to the best education. Entrepreneurship was a foreign concept in the family, where advice often centred around securing a dependable job.
Despite this, Alok’s story took an unconventional turn, shaped by his curiosity, his sister’s achievements, and his own determination to push boundaries. Today, as the co-founder of WeClinic Homeopathy, he’s using technology and innovation to make healthcare accessible and effective for people across India.
Alok’s early life revolved around academic aspirations. Inspired by his sister, who excelled in IIT and went on to become a doctor, Alok set his sights on creating his own path. After earning a top rank in the Uttar Pradesh state board exams in 2003, he secured admission to IIT Roorkee, one of India’s premier institutions.
Like most engineering students, Alok initially focused on securing a high-paying job. However, during his second year, a spark of entrepreneurship ignited. He developed an app for government exam preparation and launched it on the Google Play Store. The app garnered over 5,000 downloads in its first week and began generating a steady income. This early success planted the idea that he could build something meaningful on his own.
A pivotal moment came during campus placements when Alok realized one of the candidates interviewing for a job was using his app. This revelation was transformative—it convinced him to skip the placement process altogether and focus on building something bigger. By the time he graduated, his venture was earning ₹3 lakh per month, a milestone that solidified his decision to pursue entrepreneurship full-time.
After graduation, Alok founded a startup called Mad Guys Labs, focusing on content-based platforms. The company grew quickly, with a team of 25-30 people. However, the market shifted when the 4G revolution made video content the dominant medium. Despite his technical expertise, the startup struggled to adapt to this new landscape.
Alok faced multiple challenges, including a lack of funding and the need for a strong ecosystem to support growth. Although IIT Roorkee invested ₹25 lakh, sustaining operations became increasingly difficult. These experiences taught Alok valuable lessons about adaptability, the importance of ecosystems, and the challenges of scaling a business.
In 2019, Alok returned to Kanpur, where he and his wife, Dr. Deeksha Katiyar, decided to take a different approach. The turning point came during a dengue outbreak in the region. They organized free homoeopathy camps which helped patients and introduced them to the effectiveness of homeopathy treatments. This success inspired the couple to start WeClinic Homeopathy with an initial investment of ₹2.5 lakh.
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in early 2020, it disrupted their offline operations but opened up new opportunities online. Alok quickly developed a platform for online consultations. A chance advertising mistake led to unexpected growth—an ad targeting all of Uttar Pradesh instead of just Kanpur brought in a flood of inquiries. With an innovative cash-on-delivery model, the business scaled rapidly. By the end of the year, WeClinic Homeopathy was treating over 1,000 patients daily, fulfilling Alok’s vision of making healthcare accessible to a larger population.
Now, WeClinic™ Homeopathy is revolutionizing healthcare in India by blending traditional homoeopathy with modern technology to deliver accessible, personalized, and effective treatments. Headquartered in Kanpur, it caters to over 2.5 lakh monthly consultations through a physical clinic and advanced teleconsultation services, with a proven 97% cure rate across diverse conditions.
Alok Katiyar’s journey from a small-town boy to a pioneering entrepreneur reflects his ability to adapt, innovate, and persevere. His vision goes beyond just running a successful business. He dreams of transforming India’s healthcare landscape by integrating technology and homoeopathy to create a model that is accessible, affordable, and impactful.
Alok’s story is a reminder that entrepreneurship is not just about success; it’s about persistence, learning from failures, and staying committed to a larger purpose. Through WeClinic Homeopathy, he is redefining healthcare and inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs to dream big and take bold steps to make their vision a reality.

After completing her Post-Graduation in Homoeopathy from The London College of Homoeopathy, Hounslow, U.K., Dr. Deeksha realized that homeopathic doctors practicing in India majorly have 3 career routes to pursue – one, to join a Government job; second, to join large corporates; and third, to start one’s own clinic. While Dr. Deeksha was inclined towards starting her own clinic, but she noticed a drawback that as a clinic owner a doctor can only serve a small regional area population. In a bid to overcome this problem, she eventually came up with the idea of a new-generation clinic that shall have a mix of physical and online presence. And this is what led to the inception of WeClinic™ Homeopathy – a venture that she started-up with her husband and co-founder Alok Katiyar in 2020.
At WeClinic™, Dr. Deeksha heads the doctors’ team, and does daily consultations with her patients through Physical OPD and tele-consultations. She also regularly takes part in internal discussions among the doctors, monitors service quality and prescribing of the medicines to patients, and also contributes towards making videos for the WeClinic™ Homeopathy’s Youtube channel. Her vision with WeClinic™ is to help maximum people realize the benefits of homeopathy treatment and thereby also grow and make WeClinic™ into a pan-India brand in the next few years’ time.
