Homeopathy for Premature Ejaculation: Clinical Limits

ISSM defines lifelong PE as ejaculation always or nearly always within about one minute of vaginal penetration, with lack of control and distress; acquired PE is a bothersome drop, often to about three minutes or less. A 30C is not paroxetine. Treat erectile dysfunction first if both are present.

The useful part of the tradition is that anxiety and haste have names. The useless part is “Selenium 200 will give you control.”

PE is a latency-and-distress diagnosis, not a “weak nerve”

Three parts sit in most modern definitions: short latency, lack of control, distress. Occasional early ejaculation is common and not automatically PE.

What the evidence actually says

There is no reliable randomised trial that Damiana Q, Selenium, or a “PE combination” lengthens IELT versus placebo the way SSRI meta-analyses do.

Shop herbs (Damiana, Avena, yohimbe) are not ISSM first-line. Yohimbe can raise blood pressure. Q is ethanol.

Classical names you will be sold (and their limit)

If you use a 30C at all, it is a short matched picture, then stop. It is not a daily delay tablet.

What actually helps that is not a pellet

• If erections are unreliable, read ED and see a clinician — PE often follows a man rushing to finish before he loses the erection.
• Stop-start / squeeze with a partner who is willing; it takes practice.
• Condom or topical local anaesthetic as directed (transfer to the partner is a real issue).
• Counselling for performance anxiety — see anxiety.
• Prescribed SSRI only from a clinician who has checked interactions (including other serotonergic drugs).

Side effects — what is real
