Homeopathy for Varicose Veins: Pictures, Not Ablation

Homeopathic medicine for varicose veins is chosen on aching, bruised, congested legs — Hamamelis when veins feel sore and bruised, Pulsatilla when they are worse hanging down in a changeable person — not as a proven treatment that closes truncal reflux. Care that has evidence is compression when conservative care is chosen, and endovenous ablation (laser or radiofrequency) when intervention is indicated. A 30C does not replace a duplex ultrasound.

People search how to treat varicose veins with homeopathy because the calf looks ropy by evening. The useful part of the tradition is elevation and not standing still. The useless part is “Hamamelis will dissolve veins.”

Veins fail when valves leak, not when a pellet is missing

Varicose veins are dilated, tortuous superficial veins. Blood pools when valves and walls fail. Risk: age, family, pregnancy, standing, higher BMI. Spider veins are smaller; they are a cosmetic cousin, not the same as saphenous reflux.

There is no reliable trial that Hamamelis 30 abolishes saphenous reflux on duplex.

What actually helps that is not a pellet

• Walk. Elevate when you can. Shift weight if your job is standing.
• Fitted compression (a pharmacist or clinic can size them).
• Weight if BMI is high; go easy on alcohol if it swells you.
• Duplex if you want a procedure or have skin changes.

Side effects — what is real
