Homeopathy for Vertigo: Epley First, Not Cocculus 30

Homeopathic medicine for vertigo is sold as Cocculus, Conium, Gelsemium or “labyrinth drops.” The room spinning is often benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) — canaliths in a semicircular canal — treated with a canalith-repositioning manoeuvre (Epley) that has a real evidence file. A 30C has not been shown to replace that. Conium is a poison plant in material dose. Sudden vertigo with double vision, weakness or trouble speaking is a stroke pathway — 108, not Cocculus.

People search how to treat vertigo with homeopathy after rolling over in bed and the world spinning for 30 seconds. The useful move is a Dix–Hallpike and Epley (GP, vestibular physio, or ENT). The useless move is months of “labyrinthine salts.”

Vertigo is a symptom with a clock

Epley and related manoeuvres: good evidence for posterior-canal BPPV. Vestibular rehab for unilateral loss. Steroids sometimes in early neuritis (specialist). Stroke: time is brain.

There is no robust RCT that Cocculus 30 beats Epley.

If you use a 30C: 3–5 globules, then stop. Do the manoeuvre anyway.

What you can do that is not a pellet

• Epley for typical BPPV — learn it from a clinician the first time.
• Don’t drive during spells.
• Hydration, skip extra antihistamine sedation unless prescribed.
• Hearing + tinnitus + vertigo: ENT, not only Google.
