Stramonium 30 is the usual home potency of Datura stramonium (jimsonweed, thorn apple). Homeopaths classically give it for night terrors, fear of the dark, and a violent, dilated-pupil picture. A properly made 30C contains no measurable atropine. The plant, seeds and mother tincture can cause anticholinergic poisoning and death. Do not brew Datura tea.

What Stramonium is — and what it is not
Datura is an anticholinergic plant. California and case reports (e.g. PMC) describe fever, dry mouth, dilated pupils, tachycardia, urinary retention, delirium, coma. The mnemonic is “hot as a hare, blind as a bat, dry as a bone, red as a beet, mad as a hatter.”
Homeopathic Stramonium is potentised from the plant. It is not a children’s night-terror syrup with atropine in it at 30C. It is also not a treatment for ADHD, epilepsy, or schizophrenia.
