Homeopathy for Vitamin D Deficiency: IU, Not Calc 6X

Homeopathic medicine for vitamin D deficiency cannot raise 25-hydroxyvitamin D. Deficiency is treated with vitamin D2 or D3 in international units — RDA 600 IU for most adults, 800 IU over 70; clinicians often use much higher short courses for true deficiency (commonly discussed 50,000 IU weekly for several weeks, then maintenance — your lab and prescriber win). Calcarea phosphorica 6X is not 50,000 IU. Do not treat rickets or osteomalacia with a tissue salt.

People search how to treat vitamin D deficiency with homeopathy after a 12 ng/mL result and a biochemic chart. The old page said homeopathy “improves vitamin D within the body.” That is false. A 30C does not hydroxylate 7-dehydrocholesterol.

This page is for adults with a numeric 25-OH D. It is not a protocol for unsupervised 10,000 IU forever (hypercalcaemia), for infants without paediatric drops, or for swapping osteoporosis drugs for Silicea.

Vitamin D is a secosteroid; Calc phos is a picture

25-OH D reflects stores. Definitions of “deficient” vs “insufficient” differ (NAM/FNB vs Endocrine Society 2011). Bone pain, proximal weakness, hypocalcaemia and rickets are the hard end. Most Indian urban results are “low” by some cut-offs — still treat with IU, not globules. See Calc phos and tissue salts.

What the evidence actually says

Replete with D2/D3. Food (fatty fish, fortified milk) and sun help prevention; they rarely replace a 8-week loading course when the level is 8 ng/mL.

Adult UL for routine intake is 4,000 IU/day; treatment courses may exceed that short-term under a clinician.

Calc fluor / Calc phos / Silicea do not appear on DEXA or 25-OH D pathways.

What you can do that is not a pellet

  • Take the IU product on the prescription. Recheck as asked (often ~3 months).
  • Calcium intake from food; don’t mega-dose calcium on a forum.
  • Fall prevention in older people — that, not Silicea, reduces fractures in the real world alongside D when indicated.
  • Infants: 400 IU paediatric drops if breastfed, per -style advice — not 6X tablets in the bottle.

Side effects — what is real

30C will not cause hypercalcaemia. 50,000 IU forever without labs can. Missed rickets is the paediatric harm. See homeopathy side effects.

When to see a doctor

  • child with bowed legs, delayed walk, tetany
  • adult with bone pain, waddling, very low D plus high PTH
  • granulomatous disease or lymphoma — D can raise calcium oddly
  • you stopped a loading course for Calc phos 6X

Frequently Asked Questions

Can homeopathy treat vitamin D deficiency?
No. Treat with vitamin D in IU. Calc phos 6X is not that.
What is the best homeopathic medicine for vitamin D?
There isn’t one.
How much D should I take?
RDA 600–800 IU for most adults. Deficiency courses are individual. The lab report plus the prescriber beat a blog.
Can I just sit in the sun?
Helps some people. Skin type, latitude, pollution and covering change the yield. A level of 8 ng/mL still wants IU.
Is 6X safer than 60,000 IU sachets?
6X will not replete. 60,000 IU weekly for a defined course is a common Indian prescription — follow *your* clinician, then stop or maintain.
Too much vitamin D?
Nausea, stones, high calcium. ULs exist for a reason.
Osteoporosis — Silicea?
Licensed anti-resorptives, calcium/D, exercise. Not Silicea as a bisphosphonate.
Pregnancy?
Prenatal D as advised. Don’t add random 60,000 IU. 30C is empty.
Can I take Calc phos with my D sachet?
No interaction of note. Take the sachet if you need D.
When is it urgent?
Infant tetany, seizures, severe weakness. 108 / 112.
