Ipecacuanha 30 is the usual home potency of ipecac root (Carapichea ipecacuanha). Homeopaths classically give it when nausea is constant, vomiting does not relieve it, and the tongue stays clean. A properly made 30C contains no measurable emetine. Syrup of ipecac is obsolete. The says do not keep ipecac at home; call poison services instead. What Ipecac is — and what it is not
