Thuja Occidentalis 30: Warts Picture, Thujone Risk

Thuja Occidentalis 30: Warts Picture, Thujone Risk

Thuja occidentalis 30 is the usual home potency of Thuja occidentalis (eastern white cedar, arborvitae). Homeopaths classically give it for warts, fig-warts, and a “sycotic” picture (greasy skin, forked urine stream, worse damp). A properly made 30C contains no measurable thujone. Cedar-leaf oil, crude plant and mother tincture (Q) can seize, vomit and, in overdose, kill. Thuja does not treat cancer. A 1992 randomised trial of homeopathic wart treatment including Thuja 30 was no better than placebo.

This article is for people searching thuja occidentalis 30 uses, thuja for warts, or thuja Q. It is not a protocol for genital warts, a changing mole, or swallowing cedar oil.

What Thuja is — and what it is not

Eastern white cedar is a North American conifer with scale-like leaves. Boericke: warty excrescences, fig-warts, moist mucous tubercles; left-sided and chilly; hydrogenoid (worse damp); “ill effects of vaccination” as a historical sycotic idea; locally, tincture or cerate on warts.

It is not an antiviral with a human wart-cure licence, a cancer ointment, or a vaccine injury drug. ” We are not repeating the cancer sentence. and treat oral crude thuja / oil** as capable of seizures, low blood pressure and death.

A PMC review of Thuja occidentalis pharmacology is about extracts and thujone, not 30C. Do not cite cell-culture “antibacterial” talk as a reason to swallow oil.

What the evidence actually says

Warts are HPV. Many common warts go in 1–2 years.: salicylic acid (often 17% for common warts) and clinic cryotherapy are the usual first procedures. About two-thirds of warts may leave by 24 months if left.

Homeopathy for plantar warts: Labrecque et al., CMAJ 1992 — 162 people, 18 weeks, Thuja 30 plus other homeopathics versus placebo. Healing at 18 weeks: 20.0% homeopathy vs 24.4% placebo. Conclusion: no more effective than placebo.

Genital warts are a different HPV conversation (sexual-health clinic, not a cedar pellet). A wart that bleeds, changes, or sits under a nail may not be a wart.

See warts.

What Thuja 30 is classically used for

Skin. Large, seedy, jagged warts; warts on covered parts; anal warts as a picture (still a clinic diagnosis); greasy face; brown blotches. Nitric acid is the splinter-pain, bleed-on-washing wart; Antimonium crudum is the thick, honey-crust, pig-and-pastry child.

Urine. Split stream; sensation of trickling after; sudden urge. That is not a prostate operation and not a proven BPH drug — see Sabal.

Mind. Fixed ideas; as if something alive in the abdomen (compare Crocus). Music weeps.

“After vaccination.” Nineteenth-century sycosis language. It is not evidence that Thuja treats vaccine injury, and it is not a reason to skip scheduled immunisation.

Thuja 30 vs 200 vs Q vs oil

Form What is in it Typical use Repeat
Essential oil Concentrated thujone Skin only, if at all — never swallow Stop for rash or neurological symptoms
Q / tincture Alcohol + plant Boericke allowed local tincture on warts; oral Q is not a home experiment Do not self-prescribe oral Q
6C Trace possible Matching acute skin picture Short course
30C No measurable thujone Classical wart picture 3–5 globules, then stop; not nightly for months
200C Empty Constitutional sycotic picture Not daily

OTC 30C is a short picture. Painting undiluted oil on a child’s face is a burn and seizure risk, not folk wisdom.

How to take Thuja 30

  • Clean mouth; dissolve globules.
  • Matching wart picture: a few globules, then wait weeks. Warts are slow; that is not proof the pellet is working.
  • Pair, if you treat at all, with salicylic acid the way a GP would — not with cedar oil.
  • Pregnancy: skip oil and Q (thujone; historical abortifacient reputation of related cedars). 30C is chemically empty but unstudied.
  • Do not use Thuja as a reason to avoid HPV vaccination where it is indicated.

Side effects — oil and globule are different worlds

30C / 200C. Vehicle only; possible brief sharpening of the skin picture. See homeopathy side effects.

Oil / crude / oral Q. Nausea, vomiting, painful diarrhoea, asthma, seizures, low blood pressure, death. 108 / 112 if someone swallowed cedar oil or is seizing.

Never use oral crude thuja in pregnancy, breastfeeding, or seizure disorders.

Thuja compared with nearby remedies

Remedy Picture Not Thuja when
Thuja Seedy/fig warts, greasy, damp-worse, split stream Splinter-pain bleeders
Nitric acid Jagged warts that bleed on washing; splinter pains at outlets Thuja is more sycotic/greasy than splinter
Causticum Warts on face and fingertips, in crops Causticum is more raw and paresis-tinged
Antimonium crudum Thick, smooth, honey-crust, gastric Thuja is not the pastry-and-pig keynote
Sabina Fig-warts with bleeding; pregnancy danger of the crude plant Do not self-prescribe Sabina in pregnancy

When to see a doctor

  • genital, anal, facial or nail-fold lesions
  • a “wart” that grows, darkens, or bleeds without trauma —?melanoma / SCC
  • painful plantar lesions in a person with diabetes
  • immunosuppression (warts may need dermatology, not a year of 30C)
  • seizure or vomiting after oil or Q

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Thuja occidentalis 30 used for?
Classically, warts and a greasy, damp-worse, sycotic picture. That is Boericke. A 30C has no thujone if made properly. It has not been shown to beat placebo for plantar warts (*CMAJ* 1992).
Does Thuja 30 remove warts?
There is no good evidence that it does. Salicylic acid and cryotherapy are the usual medical options. Many warts leave on their own over 1–2 years.
Can I drink thuja oil for warts?
No. Swallowing cedar-leaf oil can cause seizures and death. Oil is not 30C.
Thuja 30 vs 200 — which for warts?
30C is the acute picture people search. 200C is not a stronger acid. Neither is a proven virucide. Daily 200C is not classical.
Is Thuja Q safe on the skin?
Boericke allowed local tincture. Skin still irritates. Do not use oil on broken skin, faces of children, or genitals without a clinician. Oral Q is not DIY.
Does Thuja treat cancer?
No. Do not delay a biopsy of a changing lesion.
Can Thuja reverse vaccine side effects?
“Vaccinosis” is 19th-century language, not a diagnosis in immunisation clinics. Do not skip vaccines for Thuja.
Is Thuja safe in pregnancy?
Oil and Q: no. 30C is chemically empty but unstudied. Genital lesions in pregnancy need obstetric/GUM care.
Can I take Thuja with salicylic acid?
A 30C has no plausible interaction with a wart paint. The paint is the evidence-based bit.
When is a wart an emergency?
Rapidly spreading facial lesions in a neonate, airway papillomas, or a swallowed bottle of oil. Call 108 / 112 for seizures after oil.
