Homeopathy for Warts: HPV, Salicylic Acid, Thuja 30

Homeopathic medicine for warts is classically Thuja, Nitric acid, Causticum, Antimonium crudum. Warts are human papillomavirus in skin.: soak, file, 17% salicylic acid for many common warts; clinic cryotherapy is the other first-line. About two-thirds may go within 24 months if left. Labrecque et al., CMAJ 1992: homeopathy including Thuja 30 for plantar warts was no better than placebo (20% vs 24% healed at 18 weeks). Do not paint cedar oil on a child’s face. Genital warts are a clinic, not a 200C.

People search how to treat warts with homeopathy after a seedy bump on a knuckle. The useful part is HPV hygiene and salicylic acid. The useless part is promising Thuja “draws the sycosis out.”

This page is for common and plantar warts in otherwise well people. It is not a protocol for genital or anal lesions, for a changing pigmented lesion, or for diabetes-related foot warts without a podiatrist.

Warts are virus, not a Calc gap

What the evidence actually says

Salicylic acid: patient-applied, weeks, cure often quoted around 50–70% in reviews. Cryotherapy: clinic, pain, repeat 2–3 weekly for a limited course; similar 12-week clearance to salicylic acid in some comparisons. Duct tape: later evidence disappointing. Bleomycin, laser, immunotherapy: specialist recalcitrant.

Homeopathy: CMAJ 1992 negative for plantar warts. Small Thuja-vs-placebo studies are inconclusive.

If you use a 30C: 3–5 globules, then wait weeks. Warts are slow; delay is how people skip acid for six months.

What you can do that is not a pellet

• 17% salicylic acid daily after a soak; disposable file; weeks.
• Do not share files; keep feet dry if plantar.
• Clinic freeze if acid fails or the wart is painful.
• HPV vaccine where eligible — prevents other HPV disease; not a treatment for a wart already there.
• Genital: sexual-health clinic, not Thuja oil.

Side effects — what is real
